Black Walnut Cake

Ingredients:

2 cups sugar
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup black walnuts, finely chopped
1 teaspoon lemon extract
1 teaspoon vanilla
5 large or 6 medium eggs

   

Preparation:

Place ingredients into a large bowl and mix in order stated above.

Beat at high speed for 5 minutes.
Pour into greased and floured tube pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Cool upright before removing from pan. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.



Note: Daddy always made this cake. It’s good with a cup of hot tea or coffee.
