HOSPITALITY

H ...How’d I get myself into this!

I’ve heard my Mother, Daddy, and sisters all say this at one time or another.

It’s so much easier to say “yes” than “no”, isn’t it? We must decide how much time and effort we can expend in this effort of being hospitable.

It’s possible to become overly involved in our hospitality efforts and become burdened with guilt of neglect of our own families; emotionally, economically, spiritually, and physically.

I learned a long time ago, the hard way I might add, that God comes first, my family comes second, and my job and extra nonessential church activities come third. These days I try to get involved in what I enjoy, what I excel at, and things where I can do the most good for God.

God wants us to be happy and joyful, not burdened down with activities that don’t match our personalities. Read Romans,
