Be interested in your guests and don’t talk about only yourself, your children, or grandchildren the entire time. Be sure not to talk or gossip about others either. Remember, if you can’t say anything nice about someone, don’t say anything at all.
Many times I invite at least one other couple over who I know are good conversationalists, or my Aunt Ruth, who has never met a stranger, when I think there may be lags in the conversation.
This is probably my weakest trait and the one I need to work on the most. My only suggestions to myself is to keep up to date with current events, be genuinely interested in others, and keep my mind fresh.
